Cisco Certifications Lead to Outstanding Opportunities

Cisco certification ensures high standards of technical expertise. Achieving Cisco certification—at any level—means joining the ranks of skilled network professionals who have earned recognition and respect in the industry.

  Expert, Professional, and Associate Levels

Cisco offers three levels of certification representing increasing levels of expertise: Associate, Professional, and Expert. Different tracks across these levels align with varying career needs.

Professional

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)

WAN Switching

Associate

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA)

  Three Levels of Certification
  • Associate. The first step of Cisco networking career track begins at the Associate level. Think of this as the apprentice or foundation level of networking certification.
  • Professional. This is the advanced or journeyman level of certification.
  • Expert. This is the highest level of achievement for network professionals, certifying an individual as an expert or master.
  Two Different Tracks
  • Routing and Switching. This track is for network support and design professionals working with LAN, routed WAN, and switched LAN networks.
  • WAN Switching. This track is for network support and design professionals who configure, operate, and manage WAN switched networks.
  Cisco Qualified Specialist Designations

A variety of Cisco Qualified Specialist designations are available to show knowledge in specific technologies, solutions, or job role focuses.

  CCNA Certification

The CCNA certification (Cisco Certified Network Associate) indicates a foundation in and apprentice knowledge of networking for the small office/home office (SOHO) market. CCNA certified professionals can install, configure, and operate LAN, WAN, and dial access services for small networks (100 nodes or fewer), including but not limited to use of these protocols: IP, IGRP, IPX, Serial, AppleTalk, Frame Relay, IP RIP, VLANs, RIP, Ethernet, Access Lists.

  CCNA Prerequisites
