| Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
|
Step one of the Microsoft certification is to
become a Microsoft Certified Professional. MCPs have proven knowledge and
proficiency with at least one Microsoft technology. Most Microsoft
certification exams can be applied toward more than one certification
track. With planning, you learn certifications as you work toward your
career goals. Each track begins with the Microsoft Certified Professional
certification. Microsoft tracks include: Solution Developers, System
Engineering, and Database Administrators.
The MCP credential provides a helpful “steppingstone”
on the way to Microsoft’s other certifications: Microsoft Certified
Systems Engineer + Internet, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer,
Microsoft Certified Database Administrator, Microsoft Certified Solution
Developer, Microsoft Certified Professional + Site Building, and
Microsoft

Certified? |
Microsoft Certified Professionals are required to
pass any one exam. Please select a Microsoft certification track that you
plan to pursue and choose one exam from that track. MCPs are required to
pass any one Microsoft certification exam that is current as of October 1,
1998 (a current exam is any that has not been retired). The exceptions are
Exam 70-058: Networking Essentials and Exam 70-240: Microsoft Windows 2000
Accelerated Exam for MCPs Certified on Microsoft Windows NT 4.0. This
change in the requirement is retroactive: Any MCP candidate who has passed
a current exam as of October 1, 1998, will be certified as an MCP on that
date and receive full MCP benefits.
