THE NETWIZE STORY
All it takes is
one Ethernet connection and one standard wall outlet.
The EarthWalk NetWize™ System is a wireless network of
eBuddies®, amazingly lightweight and powerful wireless
notebooks, each with a range of hundreds of feet, stored
and charged in a sturdy SmartCart™.
Add recharging BatteryBays and a large-screen
presentation monitor or an LCD projector for a truly
versatile system.
Together these components form a portable integrated
system that brings the power of computers and the
Internet into the classroom - any classroom.
The Benefits of NetWize
-
Does your computer lab work as hard as it can?
-
Are you fighting for space?
-
Do you wish you could move the lab instead of the
students?
-
Do you want your students to interact with their
computer as a learning tool rather than a game?
-
Would you like to see your students using technology
tools on a daily basis?
Cost & Mobility:
A computer for every student? There is no room for
so many computers and too expensive to fund.
NetWize is a low-cost, mobile computer lab that puts
computers in the hands of every student. NetWize can
hold up to 32 eBuddylaptops.
Wiring & Internet:
Extra wiring is
costly and disruptive to the classroom. Also every
classroom will not have internet access available.
NetWize uses wireless technology. All eBuddies in the
system can gain access from multiple locations without a
direct line of site required. And all it takes is one
Ethernet connection and one standard wall outlet.
Power Supply:
Do your
classrooms have the power to charge that many computers?
The NetWize charging system charges up to 32 eBuddies
with just one electrical socket. With the BatteryBay you
don't have to stop your studies to recharge your
eBuddies.
Security:
Are you afraid of
theft, breakage or unwanted programs and software being
loaded or downloaded onto the computer? eBuddies can be
locked into the SmartCart and secured. They also do not
have internal floppy drives, limiting access to their
setup. Insurance is available to protect your
investment.
The EarthWalk BatteryBay stores and manages your battery
charging and electrical requirements from one standard
wall outlet.
Now that's something to get charged up about!
BATTERYBAY DRAWER
EarthWalk's BatteryBay allows for continuous eBuddy®
operation by simultaneously recharging up to 16
Lithium-ion batteries. The BatteryBay can be used as a
free-standing component or installed in the NetWize
SmartCart. With two BatteryBays, you have continuous
power for up to 32 wireless eBuddy® mini-notebooks.
BATTERYBAY BRIEFCASE
EarthWalk's BatteryBay
Briefcase allows for continuous eBuddy® operation by
simultaneously recharging up to 8 Lithium-ion batteries.
Take the BatteryBay Briefcase along with the NetWize
eXpress case and have an extra set of batteries for
continuous power.
The EarthWalk eBuddy® is
the heart of the NetWize™ System. The eBuddy series of
computers represents the world's first fully integrated
wireless network computer specifically designed for
students and teachers.
Mobile Lab Vs. Fixed Lab
|

|
|
Assumption:
A classroom of 32 students with the capability
to connect to the Internet |
|
|
| |
Mobile
Lab |
Fixed
Lab |
|
|
 |
|
Eliminates the need for
a dedicated classroom |
|
|
Mobile
Labs are brought into exsisting
classrooms while fixed labs require
a dedicated room that can cost
private schools in lost tuition when
they loose classroom space. Mobile
Labs could remedy over crowded
public schools without displacing
students into temporary trailers. |
|
|
|
Eliminates the need for
upgraded electrical wiring |
|
|
A
mobile lab requires only ONE
electrical outlet and can be plugged
into existing outlets in any
classroom. Many additional
electrical outlets are required to
facilitate a fixed lab.
|
|
|
|
Eliminates the need for
a dedicated teacher |
|
|
Mobile
labs utilize the classroom teacher
who integrates their current lessons
into the lab rather than the fixed
lab which requires a dedicated
computer lab teacher. |
|
|
|
Eliminates the need for
special computer desks |
|
|
Wireless laptops can be placed
anywhere, with no wires or cabling.
Fixed desktop computers require
special desks to accommodate the
large monitor, CPU and cables.
|
|
|
|
Draws
minimal
electricity |
|
|
EarthWalk's patent pending SmartCart
is 85% power efficient while fixed
labs require more electrical current
to be available. |
|
 |
|
Eliminates the need for
a climate controlled room |
 |
 |
Laptops
run on lower current and have
self-contained screens, therefore
generating less heat than
traditional desktop computers |
|
 |
|
Eliminates the need for
students to change rooms |
 |
 |
Teachers prefer not having their
class time shortened by moving
students to the computer lab in the
middle of a lesson. The mobile lab
comes to their classroom and is
there for the duration of the class |
|
 |
|
Eliminates disrupting the
flow of learning |
 |
 |
Students stay focused on their
lesson rather than being disrupted
to move to a different room.
|
|
 |
|
Has
built in
lockdown security |
 |
 |
The
mobile lab doors are cast aluminum
with a special no tamper lock that
in turn can be rolled into a closet
or room which can be locked as well.
|
|
 |
|
Eliminates the need for more
wiring or infrastructure |
 |
 |
A
mobile lab requires only ONE network
connection. Desktop workstations
require dedicated drops, wiring and
switches. |
